Cabo San Lucas

A Quick Trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Living in Southern California means that a trip to the Mexican Riviera is only a 2 hour plane flight away. Sometimes you just need a break and it's amazing how a few days away can feel like a lifetime when you are in a totally different setting.

Some of our vacations are very exotic and strenuous (sometime I'll tell you what it was like to trek in the Himalayas of Nepal) but this was purely a plop down and soak in the sun trip.

As a consequence not much of anything was done. Not even of a knitting nature. I did start on a pair of Snicket Socks (free pattern compliments of Sari's Mindful Knitting ~ Ravelry Link) using Madelinetosh sock yarn (malachite colorway). But, as you can see, I didn't get very far. This is beautifully dyed sock yarn and really soft on the hands. I don't know how well it will wear, but it's lovely to knit with.

We did manage to drag ourselves over to the marina one day for an outing. It's a beautiful harbor and is reportedly the sport fishing capital of the world. Next trip we really must give that a try.

Here's Steve acting like a twelve year old. Honestly, I can't take him anywhere. I blame myself, though. Giggling only encourages him.

Unfortunately dear little Mr Puffy wasn't able to go. Somehow I don't think the medallion pendant quite made up for being left behind.

Have a great week everyone ~ and if you can't get away ~ try cooking a dish from some place you would like to visit and invite friends over for a theme night potluck!

Your pictures look wondeful and so nice and warm!

I must rush to Steve's defense. I do believe that simply being a male explains that photo... ;)

I'm sure Mr Puffy was well-attended while you were away. Does he give you the cold shoulder when you return?

Me likes it... sounds like a REAL vacation to me!

The sunshine comes right out through my screen, I can feel it's warmth! I think Mr. Puffy is too polite, and well raised to tell you what you can do with that medallion. :o)

I feel a bit like Mr. Puffy myself. Cuz I didn't get to go either. :)

CSL looks like a beautiful place!

How wonderful! Those types of trips are the best. And we Californians certainly are lucky, with both Mexico and Hawaii so relatively close.

Steve is hilarious!!

Wow...I'm so jealous now! I've been craving the beach. Looks like y'all had a wonderful time!

Being from California I have a feeling you don't completely appreciate the novelty of sunshine and vegetation in February.

Maybe the knitting has to wait - suntan lotion makes those dpns darn slippery, doesn't it?

Looks too wonderful for words. Enjoy!

Welcome back ~ I missed you in the Land of Blog! Your vacation looks like it was heavenly. I'm so glad you could go {and take your 12 year old along, even though poor poochie had to stay behind!}
You look absolutely gorgeous in the pictures! And the sock yarn is very pretty. Show us the socks when you finish them!
Also, give Mr. Puffy a little extra attention & keep giggling ~ I like hubby's who never grow up the best!

Sounds like the perfect getaway - I was wondering where you had been!

Poor Mr P - I sure hope he'll get a Valentine's Day treat, 'cause that medallion does not seem to be cutting it ...

I have similar problems with my bichon. He has to stay at home when we go away and it kills me to leave him.

Boys never grow up, huh? Glad you had a fun getaway!

Poor Mr. Puffy! But I'm sure he's not sore about missing the trip...dogs are so nice that way. Jane would have shredded all the furniture in a temper tantrum!

sounds like a wonderful get-away! The yarn is gorgeous.

A lifelong dream of mine has been to visit Nepal! How can you wave that in my face? Never mind. You seem like you were having a wonderful time and I can't wait for your next finished project. Hopefully Mr. Puffy will be around to model it!

Hi Ursula! Thanks for visiting and we'll see what we can do about Mr Puffy modeling :)

We were in Nepal in 1994 and since that time it has become less safe to visit and I'm not sure we would go back in the current climate. I hope that someday you have will have the opportunity to go.

PS - if that was you telling me to go ahead and enjoy buying blue yarn - thank you :)))

A grown up man?? Is there such a creature?! lol

I'm sure Mr. Puffy will eventually forgive you for being left behind. Maybe next time he can have a Ms. Puffy come stay with him while you and Steve are soaking up some rays?

Relaxing in the sun compared to wintering in Canada must just be fantastic!! My dad did however say he saw a Robin the other day so spring can't be too far away...

Looks like a taste of heaven...sun, green, sky...*SIGH*...Sometimes you just gotta put the knitting needles down and have a good time! ;o) So glad you did, Claudia. Mr. Puffy will come round...Perhaps an extra bacon-treat since it's LOVE day??!! Wishing you & yours the Happiest Valentine's weekend! May it be rosy with love & fun. Hubby & I tend to celebrate quietly too. And as it is soooo cold here, we're not venturing out--LOL! We'll make a special dinner, a little wine, a film...After a busy week time together is a great gift. :o) ((HUGS))

That just sounds so wonderful. I am thinking of doing a really easy fun resort trip to Cabo one of these days. I am trying to entice my sister to come with so we can have a fun girls holiday. Poor Mr. Puffy!!!

Glad you had a great trip.

Is my dear Mr. P okay? His right eye looked a little red in his photo. Didn't know if it was him or the camera.

Cabo is on my list of places I really would love to go to... aaaaah.

The yarn does look beautiful!

Mr. Puffy looks so regal in his new bling. I think he'll forgive you quickly enough.

I love the shot of you and Steve. You look so happy together. I'm glad you had a lovely vacation.
